The Dallas Cowboys host the Houston Texans in Week 3 of the 2019 NFL Preseason. Here are three players to watch in that game.

The news for America’s Team continues to be all about the work that needs to be done off the field as the Dallas Cowboys are still working to get their big three offensive weapons signed long-term.

Quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper are entering the final year of their deals, and each wants to be paid similar to what the top players at their respective positions make. Also wanting a contract is running back Ezekiel Elliott, although he jumped the line by holding out despite having two years remaining on his deal.

The news surrounding Prescott and Cooper has been incredibly quiet, but the Zeke holdout is garnering a lot of attention. It’s also even gotten a little heated as the player and his agent took exception to a jab from owner Jerry Jones — who clearly wasn’t thrilled with them for not understanding he was just having fun.

With all this going on, Dallas continues to work to solve contract issues on the other side of the ball. Earlier in the offseason, they agreed to a five-year, $105 million extension to stay with the team. Then in the middle of the Zeke debacle, the Cowboys gave linebacker Jaylon Smith a five-year deal that is worth $64 million with $35.5 million of that being guaranteed.

Surely all this will continue to go on behind closed doors, but this weekend, there’s some football to be played. The Cowboys will hit the field at AT&T Stadium on Saturday to face the Houston Texans. Here, we look at three players to watch in that game — none of which want new deals just yet.
