Falling Stock

Nick Nelson, CB

While it might be odd to say the player who had the game-sealing interception’s stock is falling, that was the outlier for Nick Nelson‘s night against the Packers. He was picked on all night in coverage and allowed two touchdowns because of his shortcomings in that department. A player fighting for his spot in the final 53, Nelson’s night may have landed him on the wrong side of the cut line.

The NFL’s return to Canada

It has to be said — the NFL’s return to Canada for the first time in six years was a debacle. Fans played north of $200 to watch no starters play on an 80-yard field. What is that? Moreover, this is the second time in as many years that one of the league’s trips outside the United States has been tarnished by poor field conditions. Hopefully the league will take better measures to prepare for the next trip like this.

Mike Glennon, QB

Peterman obviously got the majority of the quarterback snaps but the discrepancy between his performance and that of Mike Glennon was substantial. Glennon went just 4-of-9 for 38 yards and was seemingly not in-sync with any part of the offense. The veteran quarterback hasn’t been bad all preseason but he’s been outplayed by the guy he’s battling with for the backup job, including on Thursday night.

Luke Willson, TE

The Darren Waller hype out of Oakland is a very real thing as he seemingly has a stranglehold on the starting tight end spot. Hard Knocks standout Luke Willson, though, is vying for a spot on the roster and snaps but didn’t help his case against the Packers. Not only did he fail to haul in either of his two targets but he was lackluster (to put it kindly) when asked to block.
