2020 NFL Draft prospects will start putting their talent on display on Saturday night in Week 0 as the Miami Hurricanes face the Florida Gators.

On Saturday, the 2019 college football season begins. The Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators renew a Florida rivalry as they head to Orlando and Camping World Stadium for a primetime Week 0 matchup. And though scouting began long ago, this is our first look at new film on potential 2020 NFL Draft prospects.

Yes, the 2020 NFL Draft is still eight months away. There is a lot that can change from the start of the college football and NFL seasons that can dramatically alter how the draft plays out. At the same time, though, you have to start with a base-line knowledge of these players and then go from there.

The Florida Gators have more top 50 prospects than the Miami Hurricanes do but the latter is far from being a slouch. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the six best 2020 NFL Draft prospects playing on Saturday night in this matchup to kick off the new college football season.

6. Jonathan Garvin, EDGE (Miami)

The first thing that stands out on the 6-5, 250-pound Jonathan Garvin is his length. He’s a long, gangly defensive end with solid strength and room to grow on his frame. Despite his lanky frame, he holds up at the point of attack thanks to his long arms and solid base.

While he doesn’t possess high-end speed or an elite first step, his long stride makes up for it. When chasing down backs and quarterbacks, he eats grass in a hurry. Garvin also does a good job with counter moves, although he doesn’t possess the quickest hands.

Garvin is a top 100 player who can hear his names called in the third or fourth round of the 2020 draft. He’s an ideal fit in a 4-3 defensive scheme and can be an immediate contributor in the run game. If he shows that he can consistently get to the quarterback, he’ll see his draft stock soar.
