The New York Jets host the New Orleans Saints in Week 3 of the 2019 NFL Preseason. Here are the details needed to catch the game.

One team is resting their veteran and getting a long look at the backups, whereas the other is continuing to get their young quarterback plenty of reps. Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints will travel to New Jersey with his team to take on Sam Darnold and the New York Jets.

For Brees, it will be his first action of the preseason, but there’s probably not much of a chance that he will play for more than a series or two. At 40 years of age, that’s understandable as Brees has been doing this since 2001 when he was drafted by the San Diego Chargers.

For the Jets, they will again trot out Darnold, the No. 3 overall pick out of USC last season. They surely hope he has the kind of success that Brees has in his career, but Darnold still has a lot of work to do as he entered the league with just two seasons worth of starting experience for the Trojans.

In what will likely be a dress rehearsal for both teams, Week 3 could end up being a lot of fun for fans to tune in to.

In addition to getting Brees his first action, the Saints will also continue to get Taysom Hill and Teddy Bridgewater some work. Bridgewater, who was with New York last preseason, will also get a chance to go against some of his former teammates — although they probably hardly remember him considering how short his stay was.
