Round 2

11. player. 15. . WR. Team 10. Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas led the league in catches last season with 125. That left him as the WR6 in PPR. Primed to be Drew Brees’ favorite receiver once again, Thomas should be the fourth receiver off the board and a locked-in top-five option at the position heading into this season.

Team 9. Joe Mixon. 12. player. 56. . RB

Last year, many viewed Joe Mixon as a breakout candidate who could become an RB1. Mixon finished as the RB10 on the season, leaving him as an RB1 and one of the best options going into this season. His current ADP is 17th overall in PPR. That is value that no one should pass up, but he is absolutely worth the 12th overall choice — especially if you go wide receiver in the first round.

WR. Team 8. Tyreek Hill. 13. player. 124.

Tyreek Hill was the WR3 last season. So why does he fall to 13th overall? Not because of his off the field problems, but due to his inconsistency week in and week out. His splits were some of the craziest in the league. However, with Mahomes still at the helm, Hill is positioned for another top-five season.

51. . RB. Team 7. Todd Gurley. 14. player

Todd Gurley — fantasy’s best player the past two seasons — somehow has fallen to the second round. The reason being, the Rams plan to protect their prized running back by giving him fewer touches to keep him fresh. What does “fewer” mean? We don’t know. For now, he is a mid-second round fantasy pick who could turn out to be the steal of the draft.

. WR. Team 6. JuJu Smith-Schuster. 15. player. 55

Imagine being a top-10 receiver and not even the best on your team last year? Well, that was JuJu Smith-Schuster and, now with Antonio Brown gone, the hype train doesn’t stop. After posting 296.9 fantasy points as the second option on his team, JuJu has a legitimate shot at being not only top five but the WR1 this season.

. WR. Team 5. Odell Beckham Jr.. 16. player. 53

Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the best wide receivers in football. He is one of the best in fantasy as well. His new situation sweetens the pot even more, but his only problem is avoiding injury which has not been easy for him in the past. A healthy OBJ is a top-five talent at the position, especially with a quarterback who can get him the ball this season.

RB. Team 4. Dalvin Cook. 17. player. 60.

Dalvin Cook is first-round fantasy football talent that has to go in the second or later due to his inability to remain healthy. As Minnesota attempts to be a run-first offense, Cook is prepared to be the center of it. If Conner, Mixon and Gurley are all off the board and you’re looking to take a running back, Cook is your best bet in the second round.

Team 3. Travis Kelce. 18. player. 124. . TE

The only tight end to really consider at the start of the draft. Travis Kelce has been the TE1 for two straight seasons and will be with Patrick Mahomes throwing to him again. With his point total from a year ago, he would have been the WR9 overall. Having that at a weaker position is the biggest advantage you could have.

. WR. Team 2. Mike Evans. 19. player. 48

Talent is surely not a question for Mike Evans. His only worry season is how Jameis Winston will perform. In the Bruce Arians offense, Evans has a shot at topping his best season in 2016 where he totaled 304.1 points as the WR3.

Team 1. Antonio Brown. 20. player. 28. . WR

There isn’t a more consistent guy than Antonio Brown at the wide receiver position in fantasy football — possibly ever. After finishing in the top three for six straight seasons (first five times), AB finished fifth in 2018 while scoring 15 touchdowns. Now in Oakland with problems everywhere, Brown falls to the end of the second but not much further as he remains one of the best in the NFL and in fantasy.
