30. Indianapolis Colts (10)

No team took as much of a plummet in these 2019 NFL Power Rankings as much as the Indianapolis Colts did. During their game with the Chicago Bears, word leaked that quarterback Andrew Luck had informed the team he was going to retire at age 29.

While he still could have played, the fact is Luck started to feel the physical toll was something he could no longer endure. Considering he missed all of the 2017 season with a shoulder injury and then struggled to get back to himself afterward, this shouldn’t be too surprising.

However, the timing of the announcement is what shocked everyone, including fans who were in attendance and caught word of the news. Fans were seen visibly shaken in their seats and then as Luck left the field, he was booed by the very fans who supported him during his career.

It was an ugly scene as the people who were upset to see him go simply weren’t understanding the beating Luck took. He decided to walk away while he could still do the things he wanted to do from a physical standpoint.

With all that being said, it absolutely destroys the Colts chances this season. Jacoby Brissett is a good backup quarterback but the team isn’t near as good with him as the starter heading into the regular season.
