25. San Francisco 49ers (24)

The star of the show this weekend for the San Francisco 49ers was running back Jeff Wilson, Jr. who went for 45 yards and two touchdowns in their 27-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. That was a good outing for him, but there’s a long road to the 53-man roster for him as Tevin Coleman, Matt Breida, and Jerick McKinnon are all on the roster as well.

However, there’s no doubt that their season hinges on the play of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Added to the team in 2017 at the trading deadline, Garoppolo was a player everyone was excited to see last season but his season ended abruptly as he tore his ACL against the Chiefs.

Again facing Kansas City, he looked healthy and was good on 14-of-20 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown. We still need to see him do this for an entire season, but the play of Jimmy G was encouraging this week.

Even if he does play well, there’s still a lot to be desired on this roster. The 49ers may have some big names up front but their secondary is still a work in progress. They could be a surprise team, but they’re in a decent division and haven’t been good for quite some time.
