Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray

One year after using a first-round pick on Josh Rosen, the Arizona Cardinals made a bold move this past April by using the top overall selection on Kyler Murray, who was arguably the best quarterback in this year’s class.

With all due respect to Rosen since the argument can be made that Arizona didn’t exactly put Rosen in the best situation last year as a rookie, when comparing the two young quarterbacks, Murray seems like the much better option.

Now, the question for the Cardinals becomes how quickly Murray can become the kind of quarterback Arizona needs to become a legitimate contender in the NFC once again since their division alone will be loaded with heavy contenders.

In three preseason games, Murray has yet to throw a single touchdown pass, but also Arizona should be more concerned over making sure the rookie quarterback receives the necessary experience before the real action arrives in September.

Putting a ton of pressure on a rookie quarterback like Murray may seem unfair, but also how well he performs during his first NFL season will determine the success of the Cardinals in 2019.

Arizona never would have selected Murray if they didn’t see some sort of potential, and watching the rookie perform over the next few months should be filled with plenty of excitement.
