Carli Lloyd seems to be catching the attention of numerous NFL teams in need of a kicker for the 2019 season.
Does Carli Lloyd actually have what it takes to be a successful kicker in the NFL?
Believe it or not, this has been one of the most popular topics of discussion as of late after the U.S. women’s soccer star was seen last week drilling kicks during a joint practice between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens.
While this may not seem like that big of a deal since kicking is one of the things Lloyd does best, it was pretty amazing to see her drill a field goal from 55-yards out during the practice.
As for whether Lloyd would be able to handle the pressure of doing the same during an actual NFL game, well that’s simply why this has been such a popular topic since while the kicking is there, football is completely different from soccer.
Still, the only way anyone is going to figure out whether Lloyd has what it takes is if she actually gets a shot from a team in need of help in the kicking department, which coincidentally there are plenty at the moment.
If Lloyd can handle the kind of pressure that comes with playing in the World Cup in front of such a large audience, why shouldn’t football teams feel the same about her in the NFL?
Long shot or not, it’s time to have a little fun by looking at five teams that should take a leap of faith in 2019, and actually give Lloyd a chance to prove herself as the kicker, especially if it would be an upgrade over their current situation.
