7 Reasons the Chicago Bears won’t win the Super Bowl in 2019

Fangio’s departure
As the defensive coordinator for the Bears, Vic Fangio helped Chicago finish last season as arguably the best defense in the NFL. The Bears ended 2018 allowing the fewest points and the third-fewest yards per game in the league.
Watching this all go down last year was the Denver Broncos who eventually decided to hire Fangio this past offseason to be the team’s new head coach.
Stepping in as the Bears’ new defensive coordinator for this season is former Indianapolis Colts head coach, Chuck Pagano. Prior to his time with the Colts, Pagano was a secondary coach for multiple teams around the NFL and in 2011 he was the defensive coordinator for a Baltimore Ravens team that finished third in points and yards allowed.
Chicago is obviously hoping that the loss of Fangio won’t make too big of an impact on their defensive performance this season, but they might not be so lucky.
His replacement didn’t fare too well during his last job as Indianapolis had one of the league’s worst defenses during Pagano’s final three seasons with the team. Yes, he was the head coach of the Colts and not the defensive coordinator, but his coaching background should have definitely resulted in better results from his defenses.
The Bears certainly have the talent to be a top defensive team in the NFL this season. But will Pagano be able to figure out how to utilize everyone correctly?
