7 Reasons the Chicago Bears won’t win the Super Bowl in 2019

Mitchell Trubisky
Just like most of what the Bears did out on the field in 2018, not many envisioned quarterback Mitchell Trubisky going out and performing like he did last season.
After a typical rookie campaign that featured a number of ups and downs, Trubisky excelled in Matt Nagy’s offense and it resulted in him earning a trip to the Pro Bowl. In 14 games last season, the 25-year old quarterback threw for 3,223 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Trubisky now has to prove that last year wasn’t a fluke though. In 2019, opposing defenses are likely going to do their best to force him to beat them with his arm.
Stopping an offense’s rushing attack and forcing them into third-and-long situations is ideal for any defense, but it’s especially ideal for defenses who will be facing Trubisky and Chicago in 2019.
Last season, the Bears quarterback had a 53.3 rating when the offense was faced with a third down of 10 or more yards.
Trubisky took a lot of steps in the right direction last year, but he still has a ways to go if he’s going to be one of the top passers in the NFL. For now, Chicago can’t rely on him to carry the team on his back and it probably won’t turn out too well in 2019 if the team has to depend more on his arm than they did last season.
If Trubisky can continue his progression, it could potentially result in a championship year for the Bears. But if he struggles, then it’s likely going to be hard for Chicago to even match the success they experienced last season.
