The Chicago Bears are days away from opening the 100th NFL season in Chicago. Here are five reasons why they can close the season with a Super Bowl win in Miami.

The NFL’s 100th season is at our doorstep. The countdown is almost at zero. In just a few days, the Chicago Bears open the season at home against the hated Green Bay Packers. All the talk is over and now the actions speak louder than words. General manager Ryan Pace assembled what he feels is a team that will go further than it did last season and hopefully goes all the way to Miami in February.

Hopes are high in Bears Nation. They experienced a magical season last year, but it ended on a heartbreaking double-doink missed field goal. The season gave them a taste of winning football. Now, they want to eat an entire meal. They have high expectations.

The national media hasn’t been as excited about the Bears as the fans. Many see a regression, thinking last season was a fluke. Some, like Sports Illustrated, have Chicago with a 7-9 record and finishing in last place in the NFC North.

The team and the fans have an attitude of “Us vs. Them” as the season finally begins. The Bears were underappreciated as the season progressed last year and appear to be underappreciated at the start of this season. They feel, however, that this is a super team and can compete with any team in the league.
