2020 NFL Mock Draft: Colts luck into new quarterback, Dolphins start future
By Randy Gurzi
The Indianapolis Colts suddenly have a need at quarterback, but they’re able to fill it in this first-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft
There are three key positions that can change the course of a franchise — one is the quarterback, and another is a pass rusher who can affect the opponent’s quarterback.
There can also be an argument for a premier left tackle who can keep the quarterback upright, but no matter how you look at it, keeping a quarterback in rhythm or knocking him out of it is the most important aspect of any team’s success.
That’s why in every draft these positions are often sought after. And at times, teams even overdraft a player if there is a belief they can at least be an upgrade for them at one of these critical spots.
Last season, for example, the first pick was quarterback Kyler Murray. He was quickly followed by three players who attack the signal-caller in Nick Bosa, Quinnen Williams, and Clelin Ferrell.
In fact, 10 of the first 13 picks were either spent on a quarterback, a defender who was either an edge rusher or an interior defender that could rush the passer or an offensive tackle. This coming season, we will probably see a similar pattern — especially considering there are some talented players who fit into the roles just discussed.
With that being said, we do our best to try and predict who will hear their names called during the first 32 picks with this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
