Up next is the Atlanta Falcons who made two picks in the first round this past season, both of which were used on offensive linemen. In this mock, they move to the other line as they look for someone to potentially replace a former No. 8 overall pick in Vic Beasley — who hasn’t fully lived up to his potential for the Dirty Birds.

After a breakout season in 2016 which saw him record 15.5 sacks, Beasley has struggled to find consistency and has just five in each of the past two seasons. They have found more success with 2017 first-round pick Takkarist McKinley, who had six sacks as a rookie and seven this past season.

Chances are, Takk will become the featured pass rusher in Dan Quinn’s defense and they will likely allow Beasley to walk in free agency once his rookie contract is up following the 2019 season.

With that being likely, they get a replacement here in Curtis Weaver out of Boise State. Weaver is a better fit for the Falcons defensive line as he’s over 260-pounds, whereas Beasley is listed at just 246-pounds.

Weaver enters this season on the heels of a 9.5 sack season and he had 11 as a freshman. He may not be from one of the power schools, but his play deserves first-round consideration and he could be a great addition opposite McKinley.
