Cornerback. Ohio State. Jeffrey Okudah. 27. player. 28.

(Pick via Bears)

Ohio State is suddenly the team to look to if you want to find a quality NFL corner. In recent seasons, they’ve sent players such as Marshon Lattimore and Denzel Ward to the NFL and they have had their share of success. The Oakland Raiders have also dipped their toes into the Buckeye cornerback pool as they took Gareon Conley in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

They go back to those waters in this mock as they grab Jeffrey Okudah, who is expected to be the next Buckeye stud to turn into an NFL starter. So far, Okudah hasn’t put up the kind of numbers that get fans excited but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t put some good tape out there for scouts to watch.

And one such scout has seen enough of Okudah to compare him to one of the best defensive backs in the NFL.

"“I think they’re different players, but Okudah is for sure on that level of Ramsey as a prospect.” — Matt Miller of Bleacher Report via Twitter"

Clearly, Okudah is a long way from being the same caliber player that Jalen Ramsey is, but the compliment Miller paid to Ramsey here shows just how strong his tape is. For Oakland, they would be more than happy to get a player even close to that level of talent as they use their final first-round pick from thir trade with the Chicago Bears here.
