Amari Cooper became the most hated man in The City of Brotherly Love last year as he had one of his best games ever against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys top wideout had 10 receptions for 217 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-winner in overtime. That not only dashed the Eagles hopes of winning the NFC East for the second season in a row, but it also showcased how much help their secondary needs.

To be fair, they don’t have terrible corners as Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, and Ronald Darby are all good players, but they lack that one guy who can shut down opponent’s top receivers. They also had serious problems with trying to stay healthy this past season, meaning they could use some more depth.

Looking for that depth, and hoping to turn a top prospect into a No. 1 corner, Philadelphia picks up Jaylon Johnson out of Utah. The 6-foot, 190-pound Johnson had a strong sophomore campaign, pulling down four interceptions and running one back for a touchdown.

He won’t come in right away and be able to go toe-to-toe with some of the best receivers in the game but he can help Philadelphia improve in an area they struggled last year. On top of that, he does have enough talent to hope he can develop into a guy they can leave on an island.
