No team had more of a reason to be upset at how their year ended than the New Orleans Saints did in 2018. With a Super Bowl berth on the line, the refs calling their NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams missed a blatant pass interference.

That cast the Saints a win and led to a change in rules which allows a challenge flag to be thrown on pass interference calls — or a lack thereof. Whether or not that’s a good idea is a debate for another day, but for now, we just move forward and help them become even better on offense as they take Oklahoma wideout CeeDee Lamb.

Using the Marshall Faulk theory on team-building, this looks like a terrible pick as he would think this meant signing Michael Thomas was a mistake. That would lead to him destroying the team for this move just as he did when the Cowboys extended Jaylon Smith after drafting Leighton Vander Esch early in 2018. However, the Saints know that there’s more than one wide receiver on the field at a time — just like the Cowboys knew that Vander Esch and Smith could do the same.

Knowing that you need several players that can play at a high level, the Saints get themselves a deep threat who has averaged nearly 18-yards per catch in his career. Lamb was playing in Marquise Brown’s shadow last season but still racked up 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns. He could help open things back up for the Saints who are trying to get back to the promised land again with Drew Brees.
