Chicago Bears: 5 Bold predictions vs. Packers, Week 1
With the Chicago Bears set to host the hated Green Bay Packers in the opening game of the NFL’s 100th season, here are five bold predictions for the game.
Well, this is it. The beginning of the 2019 season is upon us. The Chicago Bears host the hated Green Bay Packers to open up the NFL’s 100th season. The time has finally come for the teams to put up or shut up. We start getting a good idea of what they have and whether they are worthy of being tagged contenders.
We really don’t know a lot about this Bears team. Most of the starters didn’t even hit the field during preseason. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, with a lot of pressure on his shoulders, played in just one series but all he did was hand the ball over to the running back.
Speaking of running backs, the Bears have an overhauled unit. Mike Davis and David Montgomery didn’t get to show much during the preseason. What Montgomery did show excited Bears fans, however.
For the second straight season, the Bears open up the season against their hated rivals. Last season, they debuted on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. This season, as we know, they open up on Thursday Night Football.
Normally that opening game is slotted to have the Super Bowl winner but with this being the 100th season what better game to have than one involving the most heated rivalry in NFL history?
The Bears started like gangbusters against the Packers last season, but wore down at the end and gave up a big lead. They eventually lost 24-23. In this opener, though, the Bears hope to start fast and finish the job.
Chicago fans hope that this is the start of a super season. They feel this is a team that can compete for a championship, even if the national media doesn’t agree. Many feel that the Bears will suffer a regress from last year’s 12-4 team.
With that being said, here are five bold predictions for the Chicago Bears’ opening season game against the Green Bay Packers.
