3. Allen Robinson shines

Allen Robinson came to Chicago last offseason when the Chicago Bears overhauled the wide receivers corps. He was the prized jewel signing and was supposed to be the number one receiver. While he did lead the receivers in yards with 754, that was far below the 1,400 yards he recorded in 2015.

To be fair, he was still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in the first game of the 2017 season. He was still rehabbing the injury during the offseason and didn’t have a full opportunity to run the offense on the field with Trubisky. That lack of time was evident when both players had trouble early on connecting on passes, especially the deep ones.

As the season progressed, however, Robinson got stronger and better. He played 13 games, having missed time because of a groin injury. In his first six games, he averaged 11.4 yards per catch. In his last seven games, though, that average jumped to 15.6 yards per catch.

The biggest example of how much better Robinson was later in the season was during the final game, the playoff matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. He had 10 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown, including a big catch on the final drive that set up the Bears for a game-winning field goal attempt.

This offseason, Robinson was completely healthy and spent his time on the field connecting with Trubisky. By all accounts, they are becoming a better duo. With Trubisky having a better grip of the offense and Robinson having a better feel of where he’s supposed to be and where Trubisky will throw the ball, this combination could be deadly.

Prediction: 6 catches, 102 yards, 2 touchdowns
