2. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix haunts his old team

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had a frustrating 2018 season. In seven games with the Packers, he had 27 tackles, three interceptions, three passes defended, a forced fumble, and a sack. Despite that, Green Bay decided to trade him to Washington.

In Washington, he recorded 66 tackles, three passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. That’s a total of 93 tackles, three interceptions, six passes defended, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a sack. Still, many considered that to be a down year for him.

Clinton-Dix figured to be one of the top safeties available in free agency this past offseason. It didn’t work out that way. Washington offered him a contract to team him up with former University of Alabama teammate Landon Collins, but Clinton-Dix decided to sign with his other Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson and the elite Chicago Bears defense.

Clinton-Dix suffered a bit playing on a bad Green Bay defense, and the Washington defense wasn’t much better. Contributing to an elite Bears defense helps change the narrative on him. He could be up for a bigger payday if he and the Bears defense have a big season. That might be bad news eventually for the Bears, who have a few of their players they need to re-sign.

First things first, however. Clinton-Dix wants to show the Packers what they missed. You always want to play well against the team that got rid of you so he’ll have that determination. Add to it his desire to play for a new contract and he hopes this is just the beginning of a great season.

Prediction: 5 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception
