1. Trubisky begins his breakout season with a good game

In his two short seasons with the Chicago Bears, Trubisky has been a lightning bolt of criticism. From the moment the team drafted him, people continue to try to bring him down. First, they said the Bears paid too much to get him. Well, when you feel someone is a franchise quarterback you do what you can to go get him.

After spending a season with John Fox, a coach not known for his offensive coaching, more people questioned the pick. The Bears resolved that by hiring Matt Nagy, who in turn brought in Mark Helfrich.

These are two of the most offensive-minded coaches in the world. Trubisky took a step up despite the naysayers predicting otherwise. He threw for 3,223 yards and 24 touchdowns. Still, many predicted that he’d be the reason for the Bears’ downfall in the playoffs.

Well, Trubisky threw for over 300 yards and a touchdown. He did a great job late in the game to get the Bears into field goal range to win the game.

In spite of everything he’s done so far, many experts still doubt Trubisky’s abilities. Again, we hear them talk about how he’ll be the reason for the team’s downfall. They’ll say he cannot handle this offense and that he just won’t show that he’s able to lead a team to playoff success.

Well, his chance to prove the doubters wrong begins this week. He wants to come out and play well from the start of Week 1. He doesn’t have to come out and play like a Hall of Fame quarterback, however. He just has to make the right decisions and get the ball to the right players. He can do that, and he’ll show everyone starting this week.

Prediction: 26-40, 285 yards, 3 touchdowns; 53 yards rushing, 1 touchdown
