Cleveland Browns: 7-Round 2020 mock draft before the new season
By Cory Kinnan
4.119: Tommy Kraemer, IOL, Notre Dame
Remember that part about the Browns needing to add significant help up front to their offensive line? Here, with their second pick in the fourth round that could potentially become a third-rounder if Duke Johnson plays more than 10 games, they take another offensive lineman.
This time addressing the interior of their offensive line, the Browns add Notre Dame guard Tommy Kraemer to potentially stop the bleeding at right guard. Last year’s 33rd overall pick Austin Corbett barely avoided the practice squad this year after he was expected to fill the void left by the trade of Kevin Zeitler.
Right now the Browns are starting Eric Kush and have traded for Wyatt Teller from the Bills, but their problem at the right guard position is far from solved. Teller seems like more of a long term solution, but he has yet to play a down in a Browns’ uniform, and the Bills traded him just one year after drafting him.
Kraemer has started the majority of the games for the Golden Domers as both a sophomore and a junior, and now enters his senior season at Notre Dame. Potentially needing an incoming rookie to start right away up front, grabbing a talented player like Kraemer with a ton of starting experience and film could be a crucial catch.
