1. Davante Adams leads NFL in touchdown receptions

Of all the bold predictions on this list, this might be the one prediction with the highest chance of coming true. Davante Adams has two things going for him: 1. He’s one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers, and 2. He has Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball.

After a breakout season in 2018, in which he tallied 111 receptions for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns, it’s not out of the question that Adams could increase his touchdown total in 2019. Since 2016, Adams has the second-most touchdown receptions (35) in the NFL, trailing only Antonio Brown (36).

Additionally, the average amount of touchdown receptions for league-leaders over the past 10 years stands at 14.7. The median stands at 14. Last season’s leader, Antonio Brown, finished with 15. If Adams can add two more touchdown catches onto his 2018 total of 13, he could easily lead the NFL.

And let’s not forget the fact that Aaron Rodgers only threw 25 touchdown passes last season. Over half of Rodgers’ touchdown throws went to Adams, and yet, Adams should see even more opportunities from Rodgers in 2019. Rodgers’ 25 touchdown passes was the lowest amount of any season of his career in which he played 16 games.

And then there’s this: Earlier in the offseason, Rodgers stated during an interview that he’d like to target Adams more this coming season. “We’ve got to keep finding ways to get [Adams] the ball. There’s nothing wrong with having a go-to guy who’s that dynamic.”

The scariest part for opposing defenses is that Adams was targeted a whopping 169 times in 2018, which was the second-most in the league — only one target behind Julio Jones for the most. If Rodgers truly wants to target him more, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Adams lead the NFL in touchdowns in 2019.
