As the Atlanta Falcons open up the 2019 NFL season traveling to take on the Minnesota Vikings, here are three bold predictions for the Week 1 contest.

The 2019 regular season is officially ready to kick off for the Atlanta Falcons and the rest of the NFL, and the Falcons will have a tough first test when they head to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon.

Atlanta opens up the 2019 campaign with a matchup against Minnesota at noon Sunday at US Bank Stadium in Minnesota, facing a Vikings team that shares the same mindset as the Falcons in trying to bounce back this season after disappointing performances a year ago.

The Falcons come into the new season after putting together a 7-9 record in 2018, which resulted in them missing the playoffs for the first time after reaching the postseason the previous two years.

Atlanta ended up finishing tied with the Carolina Panthers (7-9) for second place out of four teams int he NFC South, trailing the New Orleans Saints (13-3) who won the NFC South title to grab a spot in the playoffs.

Minnesota enters the 2019 season coming off of a year where it finished 8-7-1 while missing the postseason a year after it reached the NFC Championship Game against the eventual 2017 NFL Champions Philadelphia Eagles.

The Vikings finished second in the NFC North standings, trailing the Chicago Bears (12-4 overall) who took the NFC North title and reached the playoffs.

The two teams have plenty of potential, powered behind two attractive offensive units that can take over games and alone win games week-in and week-out. As long as they are able to put it all together when it all matters.

Prior to Atlanta and Minnesota battling it out in the Week 1 contest in Minneapolis, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for Atlanta before the game begins.
