1. CB Kyle Fuller

In a game where there were so many excellent defensive performances, it was extremely hard to ignore what the Chicago Bears’ Pro Bowl cornerback Kyle Fuller did Thursday evening against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense.

The 27-year old defender led his team with six tackles (all solo efforts) in the seven-point loss to the Packers. He also knocked down a pair of passes, one of those nearly resulting in an interception of Rodgers. The 2018 Pro Bowler, who’s played every game for the club after missing the entire 2016 season, appears primed to pick up where he left off a season ago.

In 2018, the former Virginia Tech standout tied for the NFL lead with seven interceptions and knocked down 21 passes. In his last 33 contests dating back to 2017, Fuller has been credited with an impressive 45 passes defensed.

While it was a disappointing outcome for Matt Nagy’s club, this Chicago defense continued to excel. Perhaps Fuller and his cohorts on that side of the ball deserved a better fate. But for those somewhat concerned that the Bears may fall off defensively without coordinator Vic Fangio, the answer was a resounding NO…at least for one game.
