As they kick off their 2019 season at home, there are many reasons to believe that the Dallas Cowboys will defeat the New York Giants in Week 1.

For the sixth time in the last eight years, the Dallas Cowboys will begin their regular season with a matchup against the New York Giants on Sunday. The two NFC East rivals will face off on the Cowboys’ home field inside AT&T Stadium, a place where the Giants only have one win since 2013.

Expectations for each team heading into the current season couldn’t more different. Dallas is viewed as a potential Super Bowl contender this year while New York is probably going to find themselves in contention for the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the end of the season.

The rosters for these two teams are very different as well. The Cowboys are led by a talented core of veterans while the Giants are in the middle of a re-build and experience is certainly not a strength for them this year.

Helping out Dallas in this matchup could be New York’s lack of success in Week 1 games during the recent past. Since 2011, the Giants have come out on the winning end of a Week 1 matchup just once. Coincidentally, New York’s lone victory came on the road against the Cowboys in 2016.

There are not a lot of reasons to think that the Giants can pick up a win over Dallas this week. But there are plenty of reasons to believe that the Cowboys will kickoff their 2019 season with a victory.
