Zeke is back!

It was a deal that seemed inevitable, but Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott recently ended his holdout after coming to an agreement with the team on a new contract. Elliott and Dallas reportedly agreed to a six-year extension, worth up to $90 million on Wednesday.

Most importantly though, the Cowboys will now have arguably the most important part of their offense out on the field for their season-opener against the Giants on Sunday.

As for how much work Elliott will get against New York this week, that is something that won’t really be known until he takes the field. NFL Network’s Jane Slater has reported that Dallas’ plan is to only use their top running back for 20 to 25 reps on Sunday, which seems pretty low.

Don’t be surprised if Elliott ends up getting more work against the Giants this week than what is currently being reported. No running back in the NFL has carried the ball more than Elliott since 2016 and it would be shocking if he didn’t get at least 15 touches during Sunday’s matchup.
