1. Robby Anderson leads the NFL in receiving yards

This is a huge year for Robby Anderson. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020 so a big year from him will obviously aid himself and the Jets. His motivation factor should be through the roof. Anderson is looking at a giant payday if he can take his game to the next level.

This is the season he does just that. You want bold, very bold? Take a look at this: in 2018, the speedy University of Temple product finished 39th in the NFL in receiving yards (752). That was a whopping 925 yards behind league leader, Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons. So why the big leap this coming season?

There are several reasons. For one, Anderson has expanded his route tree. He’s just not a fly pattern or post pattern wide receiver anymore. He has shown in the preseason that he can catch the ball over the middle on slant routes and other intermediate patterns. That can only benefit him, specifically with more targets.

Secondly, due to his outstanding speed, Anderson is still a true home run hitter. Look for Darnold to connect with Anderson for a pair of long touchdown bombs this year. Receiving yards grow very quickly that way. We all know that you cannot teach speed and Anderson has it in leaps and bounds.

If Gang Green is to capture the Super Bowl crown, Anderson needs a colossal season. He’ll accomplish that feat and be rewarded with a lucrative contract. As he should. This is the year that Anderson becomes one of the top receivers in the NFL and the Jets reap the benefits by becoming the NFL’s latest Super Bowl champion.
