4. Justin Madubuike, DT, Texas A&M

Right now, Justin Madubuike isn’t a name dominating top 100 lists for the 2020 NFL Draft but he should be. His journey began as a player recruited as a defensive end before redshirting to become a tackle in College Station.

Now, he’s listed at 6-3 and just over 300 pounds. More importantly, he has earned his place as one of the best defensive tackles in college football. As expected, one of his greatest strengths is his athleticism. He shoots the gap with a good first step and speed.

Madubuike plays with flexibility and squeezes between gaps to penetrate the backfield. Last season, he finished with 5.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore. He can get stronger at the point, but he’s still shown solid power. There are little things that he still has to learn. However, he’s shown strides as he’s transitioned into a solid defensive tackle.

Madubuike is an ideal 3-technique suited for one gap schemes on 4-3 teams. The sky’s the limit for him as he continues to get stronger and grow into his frame.

Teams are looking for that next Aaron Donald. This is isn’t to say Madubuike is that caliber of player, but if he improves on his numbers and strength, he could end up as one of the top defensive tackles drafted in 2020.
