3. Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

Trevor Lawrence is the next great thing, but the Heisman hopeful isn’t self-made. Besides the talent he has in the backfield, there’s this guy at wide receiver helping his cause in Tee Higgins. Clemson has a long line of stud wide receivers and Higgins is no different.

The 6-4, 200-pound receiver is an ideal fit on the boundary. No, he doesn’t have to run the entire route tree but what he does, he does well.

For starters, despite his linear frame, Higgins plays with tenacity. He’s a willing run blocker and plays physical at the line of scrimmage. Despite his length, he does get in and out of breaks smoothly. He understands how to stack corners and release at the stem.

When the ball is in the air, count on Higgins to come down with it. Like his play at the line, he plays hard when competing for 50/50 balls. Higgins has traits similar to players like Jordy Nelson. He’s tough with great length and a fit for any scheme. He’s one of many first-round talents on the Tigers.

This class is loaded with wide receiver talent. Higgins’ ceiling is the top of the first round, though he could fall to end the of the first round or into early on Day 2.
