Falcons vs. Vikings, NFL Week 1: How to watch
The Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons face off as possible NFC dark horses looking to get the 2019 season off to a good start. Here’s the info you need.
It was just one year ago when the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons entered a new NFL season with high hopes for their potential. And it was less than a year ago that both teams fell short of expectations and missed the playoffs. They now meet in NFL Week 1 of the 2019 season in hopes of sparking something new as optimism has risen for each team once again.
Perhaps the biggest thing for the Falcons on the road in this game is that their defense is healthy. After losing Keanu Neal and Deion Jones in 2018, Atlanta gets their star playmakers back and aims to take a step forward. They know what Matt Ryan and newly extended receiver Julio Jones are capable of but it’s about the Dirty Birds getting a healthy productive defense.
As for the Vikings, the first year with Kirk Cousins was worrisome, particularly behind a porous offensive line. Minnesota worked this offseason to remedy that and has seemingly done the job. However, only in-game action will tell the full tale, though it’d be nice to see the full arsenal of Dalvin Cook, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen get fully unleashed.

This is the kind of game that should be critical for both the Vikings and Falcons throughout the 2019 season. They both play in incredibly tough divisions and need to win games against the rest of the NFC. Subsequently, this could be a tone-setter for both teams and a game that we look back on as the start of something either good or bad for each team.
