Tyreek Hill is likely a centerpiece of many fantasy football rosters but with him out injured, who can owners pick up to replace the wide receiver?

Fantasy Football owners who drafted Tyreek Hill to be their WR1 this season got a rude awakening in Week 1. The Kansas City Chiefs receiver left the season-opener in the first half with an injury and never returned, finishing the day with just 4.1 points in PPR scoring for fantasy owners. Then came news that this wasn’t just a one-week thing.

Hill is currently out indefinitely with the injury he suffered in Week 1. Luckily, the wide receiver appears as if he won’t go on injured reserve but he will not be suiting up for the foreseeable future. For fantasy football owners, that leaves them in a tough spot as a reliable commodity is now unavailable. Thus, Tyreek Hill owners are scrambling for options.

Scramble no more, though. While there may not be many wide receivers that are 1-for-1 replacements for Hill, there are several options that should be available on the waiver wire that can help make the loss on your fantasy roster easier to deal with.

With that, let’s look at five possible fantasy football replacements for Tyreek Hill, all of whom are owned in less than 40 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Mecole Hardman, Kansas City Chiefs

ESPN Ownership Percentage: 17.4

This is certainly a flyer and the least sure option we’ll talk about in terms of Tyreek Hill replacements but he’s well worth mentioning.

When the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Mecole Hardman out of Georgia, they were unsure if Hill was going to be available given his off-field issues. Thus, it stood to reason that they would add another super speedy wide receiver to the mix that could potentially do what Hill does in the Andy Reid offense, or at least part of that.

Now that Hill is injured, it stands to reason that Reid and the Chiefs will use Hardman in that regard. Though he didn’t register a stat and has a goose-egg in fantasy football to this point, the upside with the rookie is through the roof. He has big-play physical tools in his arsenal and he may now get the opportunity to showcase that as Hill’s actual replacement in Kansas City.
