Coming off a tough Week 1 loss, here are five bold predictions for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Week 2 road matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Despite starting with so much promise, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could not pull off a Week 1 victory, falling 31-17 to the visiting San Francisco 49ers. It was a game that should’ve been much closer, if not for two pick-sixes that proved to be the ultimate difference in the final score on Sunday.

Now, the team must turn their attention to divisional rival Carolina, as they will travel to Charlotte to play the Panthers for an early Thursday night showdown. Coming off the short week, the Buccaneers need to rebound and submit a strong performance in primetime.

Here are five things I think could happen during this matchup between two bitter rivals in their Week 2 matchup.

5. Winston will once again struggle

Regardless of how much the Buccaneers fanbase has been calling out for a franchise signal-caller, Jameis Winston has proved time and time again (and proved in Week 1) that it won’t be him.

His performance this past Sunday is a clear indication of that. He’s too turnover prone and careless with the football. That will not bode well against a Carolina defense that has seen plenty of him over the past few years.

Nevertheless, the Bucs’ coaching staff will ride or die with him this season, barring an injury. He should come close to 300 yards passing against one of the weaker secondaries in the league, but expect a couple of picks and a fumble due to his carelessness.

His performance on Thursday night will be one more reason why Bucs fans should look forward to the 2020 draft class.
