There was plenty of excitement throughout the first week of the 2019 NFL Season. Here, we look back at the action and identify five teams ready to breakout

The first week of the 2019 NFL season is in the books and there’s a lot to unpack. We got started off on Thursday Night Football with a shockingly low scoring affair between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

Last year, the NFC North Divisional rivals played in a rather exciting game in Week 1 that saw Aaron Rodgers and the Packers come back from a huge deficit and win 24-23. This season, there was just one touchdown as the Bears were handed a loss in a 10-3 slugfest.

The weekend finished with some great action on Monday Night Football, which included a game between two playoff teams from last season as the New Orleans Saints hosted the Houston Texans. This one came down to the final minutes with the teams exchanging scores at the end of the game and New Orleans coming out on top thanks to a huge field goal from Will Lutz.

There was plenty of other action to take in as new coaches, players, and play-callers were all over the league. We saw a few teams play well following a bad season such as the San Francisco 49rs, and some who were supposed to fare well, such as the Cleveland Browns, struggle.

Of course, teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots continued to roll as they were expected to, but there were some surprise teams as well. While not all entered their respective games as underdogs, there were a few teams that really left their mark with a convincing win.

Here, we look at five of those teams, starting with one that pretty much no one expected to be good — especially when considering all the drama surrounding them this offseason.
