2. Gardner Minshew

Gardner Minshew was thrown into the fire after the injury to Foles. Minshew performed marvelously for a rookie. However, he must shine in Week 2.

In Week 1, he completed 22 of 25 passes for 275 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He set a franchise mark by completing 88 percent of his passes for his first game in the black and teal uniform. Minshew will face as fierce a pass rush as he did in his first game last Sunday.

He must realize that his time in the pocket is limited. Expect the Texans to unleash a barrage pass rushers to fluster Minshew. The offensive line will definitely get tested by the talented Texans defensive front six.

Minshew was very accurate with his passes. He was able to pinpoint his throws as he spread the ball among the Jaguars receivers. Minshew seemed to develop a deep pass chemistry with D.J. Chark.

In order to be successful, he needs to take what the Houston defense gives him. Jacksonville can not afford him to throw into tight windows which usually result in interceptions. Minshew must quickly see the field and put the ball into the hands of his receivers.

This is now Minshew’s team. He must show up and shine with his leadership. It will be interesting to see how he progresses throughout the game.
