Minkah Fitzpatrick has been granted permission by the Miami Dolphins to seek a trade but where could the 2018 first-round pick potentially land?

By the end of the 2019 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins might truly be torn down to the studs. Late on Thursday night, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that 2018 first-round pick Minkah Fitzpatrick has been granted permission to seek a trade. That would make the second former first-round pick that the Dolphins have traded should the defensive back be dealt.

The first, of course, was offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, who was traded to the Houston Texans just prior to the start of the 2019 regular season, getting shipped along with wide receiver Kenny Stills in exchange for a pair of first-round picks and a second-round selection as well. It’s clear that the Dolphins are focused on the future.

And if that wasn’t clear enough, their Week 1 showing against the Baltimore Ravens made it more obvious. With reports abound that the Dolphins locker room is currently in shambles, new head coach Brian Flores’ team was embarrassed by Lamar Jackson and company, falling 59-10 to the Ravens on Sunday.

That has all led to this current situation with Fitzpatrick who now apparently wants out. Of course, just because he’s seeking a trade doesn’t mean he’ll find any takers, especially considering the Dolphins are reportedly asking for another first-round pick in any trade for the defensive back, according to SI.

If the No. 11 overall pick from 2018 is this unhappy, though, perhaps that price could drop for Miami and make a trade more reasonable and likely to occur. Should that end up being the case, where could the versatile secondary player land? Let’s explore some potential trade landing spots for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
