Before the Minnesota Vikings head into Green Bay to face the Packers in Week 2, here are three players that will have to shine to come away with the win.

It’s only the second week of the 2019 NFL regular season, but Sunday afternoon’s game for the Minnesota Vikings against one of their biggest rivals and divisional opponents is a very important matchup.

Minnesota will hit the road for Week 2 on Sunday afternoon, traveling to take on its bitter rival the Green Bay Packers in a hostile environment that is Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Vikings and Packers both head into the game sitting tied atop the NFC North division following impressive performances and victories during the first week of the regular season last Sunday.

Minnesota, which finished the 2018 season just ahead of Green Bay in the division standings with an 8-7-1 record, is coming off of a nice 28-12 win over the Atlanta Falcons in the first week of the season last Sunday in Minneapolis.

In the game, the Vikings shut down the Falcons for nearly the entire game. Minnesota, which scored all 28 points off of turnovers, held a 28-0 lead through three quarters before Atlanta added two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter to bring the game a bit closer.

The Vikings defense looked very impressive in the victory, forcing the Falcons into three turnovers while also blocking an Atlanta punt early on in the game. Minnesota will be faced with yet another Pro Bowl quarterback in Week 2 against Green Bay.

Green Bay, which concluded the 2018 campaign with a record of 6-7-1 to finish third in the NFC North, is also 1-0 on the year coming into Sunday’s contest after coming off of a 10-3 win over the Chicago Bears while taking part in the first regular-season game of the year on Thursday Night Football.

In that victory, the Packers did a nice job of shutting down the Bears offense while doing enough on the offensive end against a tough Chicago defense to come out on top in the divisional matchup.

Green Bay carried a 7-3 advantage into halftime at Soldier Field, while adding another three points late in the game in the fourth quarter to extend its lead and ultimately kick the season off with a big win. It is only the second week of the regular season, but Sunday’s game between Minnesota and Green Bay is already a big game and one that is important in terms of the NFC North standings.

Before the contest gets underway at Lambeau Field, let’s take a look at three Vikings players that must shine in the game in order for Minnesota to steal a game on the road against Green Bay.
