2. Raiders stifle Chiefs, hold them to under 24 points

The Chiefs will score a lot of points in 2019 but don’t count on another 40 against the Oakland Raiders. Flacco and the Broncos offense were held scoreless through the first half in Week 1. While it’s hard to see that happening against Kansas City, it won’t be an avalanche like what Jacksonville saw.

The Oakland defense wasn’t very good last season. This season is a different story. Against Denver, Benson Mayowa recorded two sacks on Flacco, helping the Raiders bring him down a total of three times. Flacco, who isn’t very mobile, was a relatively easy target.

The Raiders will get to Mahomes. Look for Clelin Ferrell to introduce himself to the Kansas City quarterback with some frequency. While the pressure won’t necessarily rattle Mahomes, it’ll have an impact on his day, keeping him from getting into any sort of rhythm.

Week 2 is where Oakland asserts itself into the race for the AFC West. Back to back wins within the division would be a tremendous start given they won’t see another divisional opponent until the Los Angeles Chargers Nov. 7.

As for Week 2, the Oakland defense keeps Mahomes and the Chiefs offense under lock and key for most of Sunday, holding them to under 24 points.
