3. Michael Thomas finishes the game with 2 touchdowns

Moving to the other side of the ball, Michael Thomas remains a monster weapon. Last week against the Texans, Thomas finished the game with 123 receiving yards on 10 reception. However, Thomas failed to score a touchdown during the entirety of the game. Instead, Brees went to other guys including Tre’Quan Smith and Taysom Hill, who are both very deserving but neither of whom hold a candle to Thomas.

In this week’s game against the Rams, I predict that Thomas will once again finish the game with over 100 yards receiving but also finally catch his first touchdown of the season. Not only will he get one touchdown but he’ll finish the game with a total of two scores. As talented as Thomas is, it shouldn’t be hard for him. Rather, it will come down to how frequently Brees decides to target him in the game.

Looking back at their last regular-season meeting, Thomas ended the game with 211 receiving yards on 12 receptions and a touchdown. Thomas has the potential to put up even bigger numbers against the Rams, though.

Ultimately, it’s going to come down to how much the Saints rely on Kamara and Thomas’ role will expand from there. Right now, two touchdowns for Thomas might seem like a lofty goal but considering how much he’s getting paid, there’s nothing he can’t do.
