2. Drew Brees throws for 4 touchdowns, 1 interception

The previous prediction was about Thomas, but ultimately the main player contributing to the Saints win is Drew Brees. At age 40, Brees is one of the oldest guys in the league but still puts up monster numbers and doesn’t seem to be declining. However, there’s something about facing off against the Rams that give Brees an extra confidence boost or a chip on his shoulder. He’s done well in their last two matchups.

Heading into Week 2, I predict that Brees will have a good albeit not great game against the Rams. He’ll throw for four touchdowns as he did in their last meeting but will also struggle and throw for one interception.

Last season, Brees threw very minimal interceptions. But in Week 1, he already knew his first of the season. While it doesn’t spell decline, it’s unlike Brees to fall into that trap so early.

Coming into Week 2, I look for Brees to right the ship against the Rams. Their playoff game was a long time ago now but the sting is still there. The Saints want revenge and there’s one man who can rely on to ensure that.

In their last meeting, Brees threw for almost 350 yards and completed 25 of his 36 passes along with four touchdowns to zero interceptions. Hopefully, he can put up similar numbers in this Sunday’s matchup.
