The Miami Dolphins intentional collapse yields them Tua Tagovailoa to start their rebuild and kick off a 2020 NFL Mock Draft entering Week 2.

Every 2020 NFL Mock Draft in the immediate wake of the Miami Dolphins trading Laremy Tunsil had the team with the first overall pick. At the same time, though, Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins hadn’t played a game to that point. And we didn’t know just how bad they would be, despite completely tearing down their roster heading into the 2019 regular season.

Well, the Dolphins’ Week 1 contest showed definitively that they’re going to be abysmal. Miami barely even whimpered while Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens ran over top of them for 60 minutes. The final score of the game ended up at 59-10 but even that lopsided score doesn’t do the beatdown that transpired justice.

The 2020 NFL Draft is now where the Dolphins are looking. Not only are the now in line for the No. 1 overall pick but they also have the Houston Texans pick. And you better believe that Miami and the fans in South Beach are excited that Deshaun Watson and company started the season with a loss. Anything to make that draft pick even better, right?

As we enter this NFL Mock Draft on the cusp of Sunday in Week 2, though, it’s about the Dolphins firmly starting a new era, the Oakland Raiders using two first-round picks of their own to try and keep rebuilding, the New York Giants trying to find a lifeboat and much more. Let’s just say that the draft is going to be all that many teams have to look forward to this season.

For housekeeping purposes, the draft order for this 2020 NFL Mock Draft was determined by our Power Rankings entering Week 2 of the regular season. Because of that, there are two AFC teams making the final two picks, which can’t actually happen come 2020. I know this — we all know this. Having said that, we’ll have more determined later in the year and it’s not wholly important at this point.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get into the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft with a full first-round NFL Mock Draft as we head into Week 2 of the 2019 season.
