While it was simply an awful year for the team in the desert, the one thing that the Arizona Cardinals continued to do very well was get after opposing quarterbacks. Led by relentless outside linebacker Chandler Jones, Big Red finished with a pretty grand total of 49 quarterback traps. That ranked tied for fifth in the league behind the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers (tied with 52) and also the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings (tied with 50).

Of course, Jones has blossomed since the New England Patriots dealt the 2012 first-round pick from Syracuse University to the Cardinals. He has started all 49 games for Arizona since joining the franchise in 2016. There has been a pretty grand total of 42 sacks over that span, including an NFL-best 17 quarterback traps in 2017.

A season ago, he finished with 13 sacks and three forced fumbles. And in last Sunday’s overtime tie versus the visiting Detroit Lions, Jones finished with three tackles, one of the club’s three sacks and another forced fumble.

Now the eight-year pro teams with ageless Terrell Suggs, who finished with a pair of sacks in his Cardinals’ debut last week. The team collides with the Ravens in Baltimore on Sunday. Will it be a happy homecoming for the “T-Sizzle?”
