Wide Receivers

Julian Edelman, NE (at MIA), $6,900: With Antonio Brown almost certain to play a limited role in the Week 2 offense for the New England Patriots and James White‘s status reportedly in question, Tom Brady should look to Edelman early and often against a Miami Dolphins defense that just rolled over and coughed up 59 points to the Baltimore Ravens. Look for Josh Gordon ($5,800) to get in on the action as well. Gordon has a fair amount of standalone value, but his level of production should be somewhat inversely proportional to Brown’s in this offense. As long as Brown’s role is limited, saturate your lineups with Gordon.

Robert Woods, LAR (vs. NO), $6,900: Odds are that Marshon Lattimore will draw Brandin Cooks more often than not. Lattimore can’t cover Cooks, Woods and Cooper Kupp simultaneously, so someone is in line for a big day. Woods saw 13 targets last week, and seven or more in 13 of 16 games last season; he should continue serving as a relief valve for Goff while Kupp continues to fully recuperate from knee surgery.

Michael Gallup, DAL (at WAS), $5,600: Gallup appears to have leveled up after a disappointing rookie campaign that featured mere flashes of the types of plays he made against the Giants last week. The Washington Redskins had no answer for DeSean Jackson last week, so place your bets on Gallup’s ability to torch a secondary that will be tested early and often.

Calvin Ridley, ATL (vs. PHI), $5,000: A ton of money will understandably be placed on Julio Jones this week, but savvy DFS sharks will place some chips on Ridley against a Philadelphia Eagles secondary that had its hands full with a bunch of no-name Redskins receivers last week. Ridley’s prowess in the red zone last season was well documented; expect the emerging star to notch at least one touchdown grab this week.

Terry McLaurin, WAS (vs. DAL), $3,800: McLaurin was on a lot of deep fantasy football sleeper lists, but few foresaw the level of success he enjoyed in his impressive NFL debut. Expect the Redskins to play catch-up this weekend, with McLaurin as the prime beneficiary. Few players at any position offer as much potential bang for the buck this week.

Miles Boykin, BAL (vs. ARI), $3,200: Defenses will be forced to roll coverage towards Marquise “Hollywood” Brown after his insane performance last week, so in a bit of a speculative play, look Boykin’s way if you need a cheap option to fill out your roster. The rookie from Notre Dame turned a ton of heads this offseason and his metrics are off the chart. A breakout performance is not a matter of if, but when; Boykin is our pick to be this week’s McLaurin.
