The Pittsburgh Steelers only had a few bright spots in a disheartening 28-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.

After a terrible showing in Week 1 against the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers showed very few signs of improvement in Week 2. Pittsburgh suffered several significant injuries and the team’s once impressive offense looked crippled for most of the game. The Seattle Seahawks dropped the Steelers to 0-2 in a 28-26 win.

To be fair, the Steelers weren’t at full strength. Ben Roethlisberger left the game just before halftime with an elbow injury. He did not return. James Conner was injured late in the game and he was unable to finish the game. However, Pittsburgh has always dealt with injuries to star players. Roethlisberger gets hurt at least once each season and Le’Veon Bell used to miss time routinely as well. Injuries shouldn’t excuse the poor performance.

Against the Seahawks, Pittsburgh looked tired and inadequate. With the Baltimore Ravens off to a 2-0 start, the Steelers are already torpedoing their postseason hopes. Someone has to light a fire under this team before Week 3.

Stephon Tuitt, DE

The Steelers defensive front was dominating Seattle’s offensive line early in the game. Tuitt, who was responsible for 1.5 sacks early on, finished the game with 2.5 sacks. The most sacks Tuitt has ever had in a season was 6.5 back in 2015. He did record 5.5 sacks last season, and he arguably had the best overall season of his career. Now, Tuitt is off to a hot start in 2019.

Pittsburgh has led the NFL in sacks in each of the last two seasons. The Steelers got to Russell Wilson four times on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Steelers could’ve pressured Seattle’s weak offensive line and put more pressure on Wilson. The Seahawks quarterback was rarely touched in the second half.
