1. Rudolph’s time to shine

No, Mason Rudolph is nowhere near the same level as Roethlisberger when it comes to being an effective quarterback in the NFL, although the Steelers certainly wouldn’t be disappointed to see the youngster one day inch towards that level.

Since there has been plenty of talk over the years when it comes to whether Roethlisberger will retire, Pittsburgh decided to use a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft on the former Oklahoma State star in case that time came sooner rather than later.

Plus, if Roethlisberger did end up playing for a few more years, Rudolph would still be able to learn from one of the best in the game

During Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, Rudolph certainly showed plenty of room to grow after completing 12 of 19 passes for 112 yards to go along with two touchdowns and one interception.

Obviously, these numbers still weren’t enough to help take down Seattle, but for a quarterback like Rudolph who was unexpectedly thrown into action after Roethlisberger was forced to leave, these numbers aren’t all that bad.

Similar to other players on the roster, Pittsburgh wouldn’t have kept Rudolph around if they didn’t truly believe he could be relied on if needed, and this exact situation is the perfect opportunity to show he does deserve serious consideration for the future.

Rudolph potentially leading the Steelers to a Super Bowl sounds insane to even discuss at this point, but also would be the perfect story of another backup quarterback leading their team out of nowhere to win the title.
