1. Aaron Jones, RB

The Packers may not have won this game if not for running back Aaron Jones, who logged a career-high 23 carries in Sunday’s victory over the Vikings. Jones finished the game with 116 rushing yards and a touchdown, along with an average of 5.0 yards per carry. He also caught four passes for 34 receiving yards.

Jones’ initial burst and acceleration through the line of scrimmage was on display all afternoon. But whenever he needed a break, the Packers rotated in backup Jamaal Williams, who had a nice day himself. That said, it was clear from the get-go that head coach Matt LaFleur had always intended for Jones to be the focal point of the running game – and rightfully so.

One of the more underrated parts of Jones’ performance, though, was his ability in pass protection. Jones has improved on this aspect of his game over his three seasons, which has undoubtedly contributed to him earning more playing time.

Whether it was running up the middle, toward the outside or on a pitch, Jones was extremely effective against a stout Vikings run defense. LaFleur also got him involved in the passing game on screens, showing the importance of having an all-around back like Jones in this style of offense.
