3. San Francisco 49ers

Don’t look now, but the San Francisco 49ers might be living up to the hype in the 2019 season. After the hype train was derailed by Jimmy Garoppolo‘s injury in the 2018 campaign, the quarterback is back in action and looks to have his team on track for success. They’ve started the year with a 2-0 record in impressive fashion.

Of course, the 49ers haven’t exactly played the highest level of competition in the first two weeks of the season, beating up on the Buccaneers and the Bengals. Even still, they’ve looked like a good team. But if there’s one area on their roster where they need an upgrade, it’s clearly in their secondary.

Ahkello Witherspoon has looked good in the first two weeks of the 2019 season at cornerback but veteran Richard Sherman isn’t the player that he once was. Outside of those two players, there isn’t really much depth behind them. That all adds up to San Francisco being a team that could use a top-tier player like Jalen Ramsey on the defense.

Adding Ramsey, for the most part, would solidify the biggest weakness on the Niners roster. And with how they’ve looked to start the year, that could pay huge dividends. This team could be playoff-caliber and adding the star cornerback would make that argument much more viable.
