1. Kansas City Chiefs

Anyone who tells you that the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t a Super Bowl contender is lying to you. They very realistically could’ve made it to the Big Game a year ago and they have the chance to do so again. With Patrick Mahomes in Andy Reid‘s offense, the team is nearly unstoppable when they have the football in their possession.

The downfall of the Chiefs last season, though, was that they were a lackluster defensive group. That again appears to be the case in the 2019 campaign. Though Kansas City shut down an inconsistent Raiders offense in Week 2, they let a backup quarterback for the Jaguars dice them up a bit in Week 1, putting up 26 points on the Chiefs defense.

Playmakers are present on the Chiefs defense but not at cornerback. It would be fair to say that the Kansas City cornerback group is comprised of patchwork pieces more than anything else. Bashaud Breeland is a mediocre veteran, Kendall Fuller is fine and Charvarius Ward is far from proven. They barely have a serviceable cornerback on the roster, much less an elite playmaker like Ramsey.

If anything is going to stop the Chiefs from winning the Super Bowl this year not named Tom Brady and the Patriots, it’s going to be their shortcomings on defense. Trading for Ramsey would put them at less of a risk for that to happen and drastically improve their chances of actually bringing the Lombardi Trophy to Kansas City.
