20. Detroit Lions (27)

Last week was ugly for the Detroit Lions as they blew a 24-6 fourth-quarter lead against the Arizona Cardinals. They let the team with a rookie quarterback and rookie head coach tie things up and send it to overtime, where each team knocked in a field goal. Once time ran out, they were still even which started them out with a 0-0-1 record. That felt more like a win for the Cards as they came back but the Lions had to feel frustrated.

They responded well this week, by having a comeback of their own. At home against the Los Angeles Chargers, they entered the fourth down by a score of 10-6. Detroit hadn’t found a way to score since the first quarter during this defensive slugfest, but then found a way to get the ball in the end zone as quarterback Matthew Stafford hit wide receiver Kenny Golladay from 31 yards out for a touchdown.

It was roughly half-way through the final quarter but the defense did their part after that to keep Philip Rivers and company from tying the game up, or taking the lead. It wasn’t as dramatic as the comeback the Cardinals had against Detroit the week prior, but it was enough to get a win and they’re still undefeated after two weeks.
