13. Minnesota Vikings (9)

Last week, the Minnesota Vikings defense made life miserable for Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. They jumped out to a 28-0 lead before some garbage time points from the Dirty Birds made it look closer than the game really was. This week, they were opposite in terms of production.

The Vikings defense let the Green Bay Packers jump out to a 21-0 lead before they finally turned it up a notch. After the third touchdown from the Pack early in the second quarter, they shut them down and gave their offense a chance to get back into the game. They did that but never sealed the deal.

Minnesota made it a 21-16 game but then when they got inside the 10-yard line in the fourth quarter of the one-score game, the offense threw it away — or at least Kirk Cousins did. Their prized free-agent addition from 2018 threw a pick in the end zone, which all but sealed the loss.

Last week, Cousins threw just 10 passes as they spent the entire game playing keep away. This time, he threw it 32 times, but despite 22 more attempts, he had just six more completions. Overall, he was 14-of-32 for 230 yards with a touchdown and two picks.

He clearly hasn’t helped them take the next step they were hoping for and it’s starting to look bad for him. If he doesn’t get it figured out quickly, the fans could turn on him quickly.
